Student Clubs and Organizations at the College of Optometry:
Amigos - Amigos is a group of students from the Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free, high-quality vision care to underserved people locally and throughout the world.
APHA APHA has been influencing policies and setting priorities in public health for over 125 years. Throughout its history it has been in the forefront of numerous efforts to prevent disease and promote health. The American Public Health Association (APHA) is the oldest and largest organization of public health professionals in the world, representing more than 50,000 members from over 50 occupations of public health.
AFOS - AFOS is the Armed Forces Optometric Society. Its members include past and present optometrists of the Army, Air Force, Navy, Reserves, National Guard, Indian Health Services, Veteran's Administration, and Federal Civil Services.
COVD - The College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) is an international professional membership association of optometrists, optometry students and vision therapists. COVD was founded in 1971 to provide educational programs and a certification process for doctors and vision therapists who are prepared to offer state-of-the-art services in behavioral and developmental vision care, vision therapy, and visual rehabilitation. In addition, COVD provides its members and the public with access to the latest research, educational materials and programs in the areas of behavioral vision care, vision therapy, and related fields.
OEP Optometric Extension Program is a foundation that provides materials and resources to promote learning of and continued interest in behavioral and performance optometry. OEP exists to advance human progress through education in behavioral vision care.
NOSA - The National Optometric Student Association - The National Optometric Student Association is an organization comprised of optometry students from across the U.S. The chapter at Pacific University creates an atmosphere of support for its members and is active in our surrounding communities.
Professional Programs Council. The PPC serves as a means by which graduate students communicate between schools; and articulates common concerns to the University. PPC appoints and nominates professional students to serve on University Standing Committees and gives advice on University-wide issues as appropriate.
